Over the past year, Optimum Sorting has grown strongly, surpassing €40 million in revenue. We are now building on that momentum with new investments, including the relocation of our facility to Sacramento, California. This expansion strengthens our presence in the US and brings us closer to our customers in the nut, fruit and vegetable processing industry, opening up new opportunities for collaboration. At the same time, this new base allows us to respond more quickly to local market demand and support customers more closely with their specific sorting challenges.

A modern facility, close to our customers

After many years of operating in Turlock (Central California), we will relocate our activities to a larger site in Sacramento as of June 1, 2026, increasing our footprint by 50% compared to our previous location. When selecting this new facility, we placed strong emphasis on accessibility, comfort and the overall customer experience. The building is fully designed to welcome customers and host demo sessions in optimal conditions. A well-equipped air conditioning system ensures a comfortable environment, even during the hot Californian summers.

This new demo center in Sacramento will play a central role in how we collaborate with our customers. It allows food processors to test their own products on our sorting machines, in conditions that closely reflect real production environments. This allows them not only to experience the performance of our technology, but also to gain valuable insights to further optimize their own processes.

California, a key region for nut processing

California has been a key market for Optimum Sorting for many years, driven by its strong nut industry. The state is a global leader in the production of almonds, pistachios and walnuts; products that are ideally suited for the Ventus sorter. California produces more than 80% of the global almond supply and nearly 90% of U.S. nut production, making it a true benchmark in the industry. When it comes to nut sorting, our Ventus technology detects a wide range of defects and contaminants, including discolorations, shape and size deviations, stones, glass, foreign materials and even aflatoxin contamination.

California also plays a key role in fruit and vegetable production. The state supplies nearly half of all vegetables and more than three-quarters of all fruits and nuts in the United States, making it one of the most important agricultural regions in the country. That scale and diversity make the region particularly relevant to our operations: our sorting technology is not limited to nut processing, but is also deployed across a wide range of crops, including blueberries, raspberries, carrots, lettuce, onions and peas.

A decade of growth in the US market

Since its founding nearly ten years ago, Optimum Sorting has built a strong presence in the US market. Our Denver headquarters has supported customers and partners across North America since 2018, forming the basis for continued growth. We later expanded with a permanent demo center in Turlock, allowing processors to test our sorting technology in real-world conditions. That same approach is now being carried forward at our new Sacramento facility after relocating from Turlock.

Recent growth shows that Optimum Sorting is entering a new phase of growth, where expansion is not just about scale. Our Sacramento facility is built as a place to work closely with customers on improving processes, increasing yields and delivering better products. It also allows us to keep innovating and support customers more closely from start to finish. In this context, California remains a key region where technology and ambition drive innovation forward.
