To further improve sorting accuracy, the Magnus can be equipped with our latest laser technology. By combining multiple lasers with specific wavelengths, the Magnus easily identifies structure and biological characteristics, ideal for detecting soft and shriveled fruits and removing foreign materials such as wood, plastic, stone, and glass.
The Magnus boasts an unmatched laser scanning speed of up to 3,333 scans per second, achieving an optical resolution of 0.3 mm (0.012 in). This enables it to accurately detect stems.
The different camera and laser signals are processed simultaneously, so that defects and foreign objects are detected more precisely, and the risk of false rejections is reduced. Millions of subtle variations in color and structure can be identified with pinpoint precision. The result: an excellent good-to-bad ratio that leaves other systems far behind.
The Magnus differentiates between multiple products and defects, processing them as needed. Its advanced AI sorting software learns to identify these products and defects based on images and autonomously decides which ones to remove during the sorting process. This frees your operators from tedious tasks. But if they do find errors, your operators can easily fine-tune the algorithm by classifying additional images or using the Quick Adjust feature, which makes it child’s play to adapt the detection sensitivity.
The Magnus features a low-speed string conveyor, also known as an O-ring belt, with minimal drop at the exit, which greatly reduces mechanical damage to fragile products during inspection and sorting without compromising defect removal accuracy.
The Magnus offers both a single and dual rejection system to separate color defects from soft or rotten fruits and foreign objects. In dual rejection or ThreeWay mode, the Magnus ejects soft or rotten fruits downwards, ensuring that their ejection path is separate from that of good product to prevent contamination by juice.
The Magnus base frame is designed to meet the highest hygienic standards. It is also modular, so not only can the Magnus be easily configured to meet your needs, but it can also be upgraded with the latest technology once installed. And like all of our sorters, it is equipped with the CUMULUS operating and sorting software – guaranteed integrability.
